Osteopathic Manual Therapist

Alyssa is a Canadian trained non-physician Osteopathic Manual Practitioner. She completed her training in traditional Osteopathy at the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Toronto, where she earned Diplomas in Osteopathic Manual Practice (D.O.M.P.) and the Science of Osteopathy (D.Sc.O). Her studies included five years of academic, practical, and clinical training, followed by a research component. Alyssa successfully defended her thesis on the effect of Osteopathy on pregnancy-related lumbopelvic pain and functional disability. Previously, Alyssa earned an Honours Bachelor degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University and Massage Therapy and Sports Injury Therapy diplomas from Canadian Therapeutic College.

Treatments with Alyssa are based on the principles of traditional Osteopathy and include myofascial, cranial, and visceral techniques. Treatments are individualized to the patient and may incorporate knowledge and skills from other manual therapy modalities where appropriate in order to restore balance and facilitate optimal wellness.

Alyssa has valuable experience working with a diverse population including those with acute musculoskeletal injuries, chronic dysfunction, and various health concerns such as fertility and digestive issues. She has also treated competitive athletes as a team therapist for a variety of sports teams. Alyssa is passionate about helping people of all ages achieve and maintain health and wellness. She is especially interested in women’s health and pediatrics and loves supporting women and infants through their pregnancy and postpartum journey.

When she’s not treating, Alyssa is busy with her four young children. She also loves trying new recipes, exploring new places, going on family hikes, and enjoying good conversation over tea!
